AN Rings to Mount Bearings

Thermal Expansion

• Accomodate for differential expansion between aluminium or glass filled plastic housings and steel bearings
• Mount silicon carbide bushings in housings at high temperatures
• Prevent outer race bearing rotation and fretting
• Prevent brittle components from being overstressed

Bearing Float

• Use in combination with preload devices
• Light duty rings allow for axial movement while acting as anti-rotation devices

Relax Housing Bore Tolerances

• Accommodate for out-of-roundness due to mold shrinkage, weld distortion or press tool wear
• Ease alignment between matched or in line housing bores, allowing the shaft/bearings to find their natural orbit, reducing vibration
